This IS NOT the type of post where they draw you in with the “HOW TO MAKE INSANE MONEY ONLINE!” and then get you to read their entire page only to offer you their online course you have to buy on “how to make money blogging.”
I want to make this easy for you, but I do have one stipulation. (Oh here we go there’s a catch!) Just hear me out.

First you’ll need a blog. We go over extensively how to start one here.
If you’re on the fence about starting a blog you can read this.
But if you’re ready to make your blog quickly and start receiving extra $100-$600 per month right away I’m going to tell you exactly how I did it so you can too.
Keep in mind we can’t predict the future (meaning this does not guarantee you’ll make any money), but if you’re serious about extra income ($100-$600 monthly) that you can legitimately make from anywhere and any time of the day then this will help you get there within 1 to 9 months. (It took us about 9 or 10 but we were learning along the way ((and took 2 months off to travel)) and made mistakes you can avoid by reading these posts we have for you.)
This IS NOT A get-rich-quick-scheme. It will take discipline, work, learning, and persistence.
But when you are sleeping or on family vacation and your blog is still working to make money for you, you will be very happy about it, trust me.
This takes work up front but will pay dividends in the long run.
Here are the simple steps you can take to make extra income fast:

You might be wondering, what is hosting and why do I need it to make money with my blog?
“Hosting” is just an internet way to say: Your site is being stored in a database. It is stored so that the posts, pages, images, and videos we put in them can be found by people looking on the internet.
It’s like owning land. You own the land and everything on it. You can buy or sell it, but it still resides in the country you’re in.
Hosting is like owning land on the internet. You are to store your stuff somewhere.
You need to a host to hold it for you so that you can do with it as you please and you own it. If you get a free blog, you don’t own it and you cannot make money with it however you want.

Create your blog
This will mean creating your pages.
You will want to work on your:
- Home page
- About us page
- Privacy Policies
- Disclaimers
- Pillar pages
- 5 to 20 blog posts before going live
If you go with Bluehost then you will be working within WordPress to make these pages.
In my opinion wordpress is definitely the way to go and there are many free resources to help you if you use WordPress.

I MUST stress here, that when you’re creating your blog and not having a WordPress freelancer do it, this step will be the most upfront work you will be doing (in my opinion.)
It takes a lot of time, online research, and learning.
But I’m not some genius, I just know how to use Google and Youtube to look stuff up.
So don’t be intimidated, just know that it will take time and learning.
Ads
Some people don’t like this, but trust me here. You will still receive traffic and will be making your first paychecks by going this route. You can get rid of ads later if you want, but this is one of the fastest ways to make money with your blog right away.
I’m only telling you how I made money quickly with my blog. You do not have to follow this advice.
The fastest way to make money with your blog on day one is to add Google adsense.
Adsense does not pay as much as other ad networks such as Ezoic, but Adsense doesn’t have many requirements to start using their ads and earning money. A lot of ad networks have requirements (like 30,000 visitors before you can apply).
Using adsense right when you go live means you can start earning extra money right when you start and not waste the traffic.
The amount will be low at first, but it will be something, and when you’re starting, something is better than nothing.
We recommend you use Ezoic after you get to 10,000 visitors a month because their ad rates are very high compared to adsense. Also, they jive with adsense very well, so the switchover is very easy.
They even give you a manager that works with you to get the ads set up, so you can start earning much more.
That’s the strategy with ads.

Make a Pinterest business account
You have to get traffic to your site in order to make money.
Traffic from search engines is hard to get at first and will take a lot more time, but Pinterest will send you traffic right away if you use their platform well.
Here are the steps:
- Search on pinterest trends
- Make a Pinterest Business account
- Pin 24 pins a day, one every hour of the day 12 AM to 11:00 PM
- Candy pins and click pins
This is important.
You can’t make a blog about just anything and hope to make money.
You should try to be a little strategic.
Search Pinterest Trends on Google and use the Pinterest Trends tool to see what is trending on Pinterest.
Things that are always doing well:
- Recipes
- Health
- Family
- Fitness
- Fashion
- Etc
It’s important to choose a topic that is going to drive traffic to your site because more traffic equals more income with ads and affiliate links.
Affiliate links need the right traffic compared to ads. More on that later.
Once you pick your topic to blog about based on enough traffic from Pinterest you can make your Pinterest business account.
Use keywords from your topic to make sure pinterest knows what type of traffic to send your way.

Pinterest is all about fresh pins. I recommend pinning right around 24 times a day.
Try to make them all fresh if you can.
Tools to help you make fresh pins:
- Tailwind
- Mailchimp
- Canva
You are going to want to make two different types of pins.
“Candy” pins and “Click” pins.
A click pin is like a normal pin where the user clicks the pin to find the information, ultimately leading them to your site.
Think “My 5 Best Recipes for Gluten-Free Brownies.” They click to see the recipes.
Candy pins function differently (I call them candy pins because they’re like candy that people gobble up). Their job is to get you lots of saves and engagement on Pinterest.
Candy pins depend highly on your topic and they are different for each niche, but the idea is to put the information right onto the pin so that the user saves it or comments about it right on Pinterest. These pins usually won’t get you as many clicks to your site, but they make the Pinterest algorithm like you more, so Pinterest will start pushing ALL of your posts out to more people.
Continuing with the recipe example, think about creating an image that has the best brownie recipe on the pin itself. The user doesn’t have to click the pin to get it; they just have to save it for later.

Affiliate links
Affiliate links are a great thing to sign up for.
The ones you’ll want to use will very much depend on the niche you choose to blog about.
Just search Google for “[your topic] affiliate programs” to get started.
For example: “[fashion] affiliate programs”
Click on a program that seems like it might interest your audience, read their requirements, and apply.
Most affiliate programs are free and easy to apply for and get into.
Affiliate income may come in a little slower than ad revenue, but if you can create a good flow for affiliate sales in the long run you stand to make A LOT of extra money with your blog.

In the long term you are going to want to be Google SEO (Search Engine Optimization) aware. Basically, this means that you will want to know about keywords and backlinking.

It sounds complicated now, but it’s not.
Keywords are just phrases that your site gets found for like “are fries gluten-free?”
And backlinks are just other sites linking to your blog’s posts and pages.
When you start your blog we recommend getting Rankmath plugin or SEOyoast plugin.
Either of these plugins will help you with your SEO in the long run as you focus on the short term game of making some money quickly.
Something else you are going to want to start doing is working on getting backlinks to your site.
Neil Patel has some great resources on backlinks that you should definitely check out.
By doing these two SEO strategies you will be leagues above those who don’t in your niche.
